Meet Patrick

Hi, and welcome to my blog!

I’m Patrick – tech guy, enabler, and co-founder of inno:peak consulting. I love making complex things simple, helping people navigate change, and using technology where it really makes a difference. In this blog, I share thoughts, insights, and lessons learned around cloud, AI, security, and entrepreneurship – always with a dose of groundedness, honesty, and a personal touch. I am always looking forward to feedback.Ā

My blog contains my very own opinions, and these don’t reflect the views and the opinions of any company or organization I am affiliated with.

This is my story

To write a short intro about me is not easy at all. What am I actually doing? Draw clouds? Or is it consulting, project management or another buzzword that sounds good?
I don’t think it’s any of those things and yet everything. In the current age, in which we move at the speed of light, there can’t be just one role that fits one person. Of course, everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. That’s why I’m trying to put that in a few words…

After graduating from a private military school, I wanted to “do something with computers“. This was followed by studies at University of Applied Sciences in St. Pƶlten with focus on IT & Information Security where I did my master’s degree. (Secure Implementation of Desktop Virtualization on Smartphones) Besides, I managed my own company (secBIT e.U.) and served the market with security consulting and secure webhosting offers. And of course, I ran a blog – this was my way of “thank you” to the community where I learned most of the things for my daily work. I closed it down for some reason I didn’t know anymore… bad decision!

Cloud Computing was not long in coming.
It is obvious that as a technician you always want to have the latest “toys”. So, the road was paved, and I got further and further into the role of a cloud architect with focus on security.

The permanent position at Nagarro was a key step in my personal development: Global corporation, great projects – and most importantly, the best colleagues!
Over the past few years, I have also developed within Nagarro. I now see myself more as a “Cloud Advisor” or ā€œCloud Governance Consultantā€, as I am more involved in consulting than hands-on. Recently, I have also taken on the role of Delivery Manager, where I am responsible for the quality of our services to the customer. In other words, what has always been important to me: helping the customer and giving the customer what he needs, with the right quality.

And then… after a 5-year break – it has happened, and I would like to unpack some ā€œtoysā€ again. I have started this current blog and my podcast:

It is important for me to know and be able to use the latest, most fancy technologies. My blog and of course Nagarro gives me the drive to test and ā€œhackā€ into these technology areas. If you are not familiar or interested with the technology, you cannot do your job properly – right?
In summary, I see myself in only one role: As a generalist in IT, with focus on Cloud Computing and Security.

See you soon and Cheers,
Patrick
